    PRE-STERILISATION
Pre-sterilisation is the process undertaken every time the machine is restarted either:
(i) at the beginning of a production run, or (ii) if the sterile areas have been breached
 TRADITIONAL PRE-STERILISATION METHODS
The whole packaging area has to be re-sterilised, including all component parts.
Traditionally performed using Vaporised Hydrogen Peroxide
The process takes between 1– 3 hours, resulting in considerably long periods of machine down time.
 PRE-STERILISATION USING STERAFILL
The Sterafill pre-sterilisation process uses ozone generated on site and in trials was shown to achieve a constant >104 bacterial spore reduction in under 30 minutes. This is a significant reduction in time required to pre-sterilise before production runs, without the use of hazardous bought-in chemicals, and so will allow packaging production lines to run much more efficiently.
