• Carer knows how to use the controls of the bed • Raises the bed to the appropriate height
• Has read and understands the bed rail policy

• Roll and turn service user to the side that has the most space
• It is an advantage for the carer who has the longest arms to be
the person to reach across service user when rolling and turning • Decide who is to be the lead person when 2 carers are required
