• Carer knows how to use the controls of the bed
• Raises the bed to the appropriate height to provide care
• Has read and understands the bed rail policy (can be found on QCS)

• Roll and turn client to the side that has the most space on the bed • It is an advantage for the carer who has the longest arms to be
the person to reach across client when rolling and turning
• Decide who is to be the lead person when 2 carers are required for personal care
