10. Apache Hill
A short walk up a hill north of the Lake Valley townsite. Fossils can be found in the strata here and the vistas are excellent. A nice walk in the winter, there is no shade and it is good rattlesnake country so avoiding this walk in the summer is advisable.
11. Monument Peak, Lizard Rock
A short walk up a peak to the east of the Lake Valley Townsite. This is a local landmark and easily identified from many points along NM-27. As with Apache Hill, this is a nice walk in the winter, avoid in the summer. Access is from the south.
