The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) approved a €150mn loan for Syvashenergoprom, Ukraine's subsidiary of Norway's NBT, with the aim to sponsor the construction of a wind power plant   with an installed capacity of 250 MW in the Kherson region. "The signing is expected by the end of this year," the EBRD's spokesman Anton Usov told Interfax news agency on November 28. Norway's NBT is going to build a $450mn complex of wind farms with a total capacity of 250 MW in Ukraine's Kherson region.  An agreement  between NBT and the Ukrainian government was signed on September 6 in Kyiv. According to Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, the wind farm would allow satisfying almost the half of the needs in electricity in the Kherson region. Oslo-based NBT develops wind farms in emerging markets. The company has offices in Oslo alongside Limassol, Beijing, Singapore, Kyiv and Karachi. NBT owns 49% of the 100 MW Linxi wind farm in Inner Mongolia, China. The wind farm is operated in a joint venture with Datang, one of China’s leading utilities. According to the company's marketing information, NBT acquired Syvashenergoprom in Kherson, Ukraine in April 2018. The plan is to construct a wind farm with installed capacity in the range of 250-330 MW, according to the company's documents, Interfax news agency reported on September 6.

British-Swiss Ferrexpo has invested $86mn in its three Ukraine iron mines   through September .   Last year, Ferrexpo, the largest producer and exporter of iron pellets in the former Soviet Union, invested at a slightly lower rate -- $100mn for the entire year. Ferrexpo is listed on the London Stock Exchange under the ticker FXPO
Interpipe’s pipe production was up 21% y/y, to 581,900 tons   through September, Interfax-Ukraine reports. or 20.8% more y/y. Through September, the company’s steel production was up 14%, to 738,000 tons. Overall, Ukraine’s pipe producers increased production by 6% through September, to 831,200 tons.
Metinvest   iron ore concentrate output rises 2.1% in October  . The attributable production of iron ore concentrate at the subsidiaries of Metinvest (METINV), Ukraine’s largest steel producer, amounted to 2.56mmt (82.6 kt per day) in October, according to Concorde Capital’s analysis of separate news reports by Interfax-Ukraine. This is a 5.5% m/m increase, or a 2.1% m/m increase on a daily average basis. The holding’s pellet output was 784 kt in October, a 6.7% m/m loss (or a 9.7% m/m decrease on a daily average basis).
Ferrexpo   daily pellet output rises 5% m/m in October  . Ukraine’s largest iron ore pellet exporter Ferrexpo (FXPO LN, FXPOLN) produced 952 kt of pellets in October, which amounts to 30.7 kt per day, a 4.7% m/m increase, Interfax-Ukraine reported on Nov. 20. In 10M18, Ferrexpo’s pellet output amounted to 8.71mmt, a 1.8% y/y increase.
