Russia’s leading fish farmer, Russian Aquaculture, is planning an SPO o f new ordinary shares on the Moscow Exchange, the company said in a press release. Russian Aquaculture is one of the leaders in the production of Atlantic salmon and trout in Russia and has been growing very fast in recent years. The money raised from the SPO will be used for general corporate needs and to implement the company’s investment programme aimed at creating Russia’s leading aquaculture company, the company said in a statement. Amongst the company’s core activities are the commercial farming of Atlantic Salmon in the Barents Sea in the Murmansk region in northwest Russia and the commercial farming of trout in lakes of the Republic of Karelia. The company has a total of 29 fish farms in Russia. Russian Aquaculture has already registered the issue of 32,769,223 new shares with the Central Bank of the Russian Federation (CBR) — the maximum allowed volume of shares that can be placed. A final decision on the actual number of shares to be offered will be taken following the marketing period, the company said.
