9.1.9 Tourism sector news
The Russian government will launch a cashback program to stimulate local tourism at night on August 21, and the program will last until August 28, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said at a meeting with Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on August 10. "This program will be launched soon, at night between August 20 and August 21, at midnight, Moscow time. It will last exactly a week and will finish on August 28," Chernyshenko said. Head of the Federal Tourism Agency Zarina Doguzova said in July that the tourists will be able to receive cashback for travelling to all regions of Russia in 2020 starting from August. She said that the amount will depend on the cost of a tour: starting from 5,000 rubles for the tours amounting to 25,000–50,000 rubles, to 15,000 rubles for the tours costing from 75,000 rubles. Travelling duration must be over four days.
9.1.10 Utilities sector news
On 20 August, the System Operator published the results of the technical applications for DPM2 projects to be commissioned in 2026 and the 2026- 28 projects with localised turbines.
Due to the auctions timeline being moved, this is the third time that applications were collected (the initial plan was to carry out the selection by 1 April, then 1 July, and finally 1 September). In August, the Ministry of Energy announced that the selection would be moved to 1 October.
The latest collection suggests 168 applications, with 145 for 2026 for 14.1GW, 18 for 2027 for 2GW, and 5 for 2028 for 0.675GW. There were 29 participants with projects at 63 power plants tendered. Of these, 53 applications concerned the conversion of steam turbine technology to CCGT for 28 generating assets, and 26 of them implied the use of innovative turbines.
