NEWS IN BRIEF

Airborne Oil & Gas’ TCP Flowlines has led to approximately 40% saving on installation costs compared to traditional alternatives. The absence of corrosion has also resulted in further operational cost savings and safety related effi- ciencies for operators.
Martin van Onna, CCO at Airborne Oil & Gas said: “The 10 km order for our TCP Flowline is a landmark moment in our company’s history, particularly given that it is a repeat order from a major operator and that it strengthens our order book on which to grow our business during 2020. Developing long-term relationships with clients fits in with our ongoing business plan and in tandem provides us with the opportu- nity to understand what is required, develop the best TCP solutions and support over multiple projects.”

Aquaterra Energy:
Chevron makes waves
with Sea Swift offshore
platform for Angola
Aquaterra Energy, a leader in global offshore engineering solutions, has secured a significant agreement from Chevron, through its wholly owned subsidiary in Angola, Cabinda Gulf Oil Co. Ltd (CABGOC), to design and support installation of a Sea Swift offshore platform solu- tion off the coast of Angola.
Destined for the Lifua-A field, the conductor supported platform (CSP) will be designed and installed in 60 metres of water. Sea Swift was cho- sen for its modular design to minimise build and implementation time and for the ability to fab- ricate the platform locally in Cabinda, Angola. Aquaterra Energy will manage the entire project scope via its in-house engineering and project management teams and will employ both Ango- lan fabrication and installation support.
Stewart Maxwell, Technical Director at Aqua- terra Energy, said: “CSPs are sometimes misun- derstood and can often be overlooked for more traditional jacketed platforms. However, CSPs like Sea Swift can be installed by jack-up, so that operators can take advantage of the infrastruc- ture they have available in the field, without the need to mobilise other assets, saving valuable time and resources.”
Sea Swift is a minimum-facility offshore plat- form for rapid returns in shallow waters. Using well conductors as the structural support for the topside, Sea Swift minimises build and imple- mentation times.
The platforms offer a low-risk, low-cost route to reduced time to first oil and lower capital investment.
“This agreement is a key milestone on the Sea Swift success story, and a real achievement for the entire team. This will be our fifth Sea Swift platform in West Africa and highlights the grow- ing importance of flexible platform fabrication that can not only help local content rules but also reduce environmental impact via innovative installation options,” adds Maxwell.

Oceaneering International wins riserless light well intervention contract from units of BP
Oceaneering International announced the award by units of BP of a contract to provide comprehensive riserless light well intervention (RLWI) services offshore Angola in Blocks 18 and 31. The value of this meaningful award is reflected in our December 31, 2019 Subsea Prod- ucts backlog.
In connection with this contract, Oceaneer- ing has agreed to provide personnel and equip- ment related to its RLWI services, remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), survey services, and communication services integrated onto a chartered multi-purpose vessel. These ser- vices are contracted to support a multi-well campaign designed to include mechanical
well interventions, well stimulations, and tree change-outs.
Oceaneering’s work scope also includes pro- ject management, engineering, systems integra- tion, offshore management, and project crews. Offshore operations are scheduled to begin in the second quarter, with completion anticipated in the late fall of 2020.
This contract follows a successful interven- tion campaign by Oceaneering in the same region in late 2018 and early 2019 for this super- major and its co-developers.
Jim O’Leary, VP Wells, Africa and Middle East, BP, stated, “Oceaneering has a proven track record of providing us with a much-needed RLWI rapid response solution to help restore and improve production in Angola. We look forward to working with Oceaneering on this campaign.”
Rod Larson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Oceaneering, stated, “We appreciate BP’s continued trust in our ability to provide them with reliable, cost effective, ultra-deepwa- ter intervention solutions in Angola. The award of this project reinforces Oceaneering’s position as a leading RLWI service provider in deepwater environments. This is the latest example that per- forming RLWI from a multi-purpose vessel is a viable, more efficient alternative for production enhancement compared to performing similar services from a rig or purpose-built intervention vessel.”
