        If all goes to plan, the project will mark the TVF’s first greenfield investment in the energy industry.
The plant is to be located in the Yumurtalik free trade zone (FTZ) near Adana on Turkey’s Eastern Mediterranean coast.
Azerbaijan’s SOCAR is currently looking at plans to expand production at its existing Petkim petrochemical plant at Aliaga on Turkey’s Aegean coast. The company will later this year commission its 214,000 bpd SOCAR & Turcas Aegean Refinery (STAR) oil refinery adjacent to the Petkim plant which will supply it with up to 1.3mn tpy of naphtha and 455,000 tpy of mixed xylenes feedstock. It also has natural gas available through an unimplemented agreement with Turkey’s state gas importer Botas.

4.5.1​ Labour market, unemployment dynamics
        Turkey's unemployment rate officially edged up to 14.0% in the July-September period from 13.9% a month earlier, Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data showed on November 15.
Youth unemployment climbed to a record official high of 27.4%.
The unemployment rate stood at 11.1% in the same period of last year, when youth unemployment was 20.8%.
Last year's currency crisis and the consequent recession pushed unemployment to a near-decade high of 14.7% in the first quarter.
