Bechtel continues LNG leadership with first cargo delivered at Corpus Christi’s Train 2
Bechtel and customer Cheniere Energy announced the completion of the rst commissioning cargo with lique ed natural gas (LNG) from Train 2 at the Corpus
Christi Liquefaction (CCL) export terminal in Corpus Christi, Texas. rough its partnership with Cheniere, Bechtel has now delivered seven LNG trains at two sites on the U.S. Gulf Coast since 2015.
“We are pleased to have achieved another key milestone, LNG first Cargo, on the Corpus Christi Liquefaction Train 2, as part of the Commissioning and Startup process. is is the result of thoughtful planning and execution, and excellent teamwork with Bechtel,” said David Cra , Cheniere’s senior vice president Engineering and Construction. “Together we will continue to work towards reaching other milestones for the Corpus Christi facility, including completion of Train 2 later this year and Train 3 in 2021.”
“ e collaboration between Cheniere and Bechtel has been critical in delivering success on these projects,” said Darren Mort, Bechtel’s LNG general manager. “ is milestone shows once again that our integrated, direct-hire EPC model and our philosophy of ‘design it once and build it many times’ means lower cost, shorter delivery schedules, and greater certainty of outcome for our customers.”
Since 2015, Bechtel has delivered an unprecedented 15 large-scale LNG production trains for customers around the world, including eight trains in Australia. Bechtel-
delivered facilities account for roughly one- third of the global LNG capacity, supplying about 61 million tonnes of LNG each year, or enough energy to power more than 85 million homes.

Petrolimex, JXTG sign MoU on Vietnam
On the morning of July 1, 2002 in Tokyo, Japan - Chairman of Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) Pham Van anh and JXTG Group President and CEO Tsutomu Sugimori signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Research in the eld of LNG & Gas in Vietnam.

sides in the framework of “Vietnam - Japan Investment Promotion Conference and Business Connection” jointly organised by Vietnam Ministry of Planning and Investment and Japan Trade Promotion Organization (JETRO). ) organised on the occasion of attending the G20 Summit of Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Vietnamese and Japanese government o cials witnessed the signing ceremony.
JXTG Group is currently a strategic shareholder and holds 8% stake in Petrolimex. is MoU is an agreement for the two parties to work together to develop a detailed report on LNG & Gas in Vietnam, serving the upcoming LNG project of Petrolimex.
In the coming time, Petrolimex will focus on building LNG import port in Khanh
Hoa, receiving facilities will be located next
to petroleum storage. Previously, Petrolimex also signed a memorandum of understanding with the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) to work together to develop clean energy.
Accordingly, Petrolimex will supply LNG to power plants built by EVN in Khanh Hoa province. Phoenix appeals for Tanglawan time
Phoenix Petroleum Philippines and CNOOC, via their joint venture Tanglawan Philippine LNG, have appealed for an extension on
their LNG project in Batangas, GMA
News reported, citing a regulatory ling. Tanglawan has “already led for an extension of the Notice To Proceed last June 20, 2019, and along with it the status updates of the proposed project were also submitted”.
A government o cial was reported as saying the group may receive a six month extension.
4,000 LNG Vessels Received at Chita LNG Terminal
JERA Co., Inc. (“JERA”) is pleased to announce that the total number of LNG vessels that has been received at Chita LNG terminal in Chita City, Aichi Prefecture, which is utilized with Toho Gas has reached 4,000 with the arrival of Senshu Maru carrying LNG from Indonesia.
About 42 years have passed since the terminal received its rst LNG vessel in September 1977. rough the years, it has been operated successfully without any accidents or incidents in receiving LNG vessels. e total quantity of LNG unloaded at the terminal has reached approximately 236 million tons.
JERA will continue to contribute to the development of society by providing a stable supply of energy essential to our daily lives.
e Chita LNG turminal is a facility for receiving, storing, and vaporizing imported LNG and sending it out to consumers in response to the demand.
