Naftogaz Group paid UAH141.5bn to the state and local budgets in January-December 2020. This includes part of the dividends for 2019 — UAH39.6bn — as well as taxes and payments arising from Ukrnafta's tax debt settlement. Revenues from Naftogaz Group exceeded 13% of total state budget revenues in January-December 2020. Naftogaz Group remains Ukraine’s biggest taxpayer. In 2019, Naftogaz Group’s tax and dividend payments to budgets of all levels totalled nearly UAH121.4bn.
The Naftogaz Exploration and Production Division launched a new 18.8 km gas pipeline in January, which will provide additional production of 150,000 cubic meters of gas per day, the company said on January 20 as cited by Interfax Ukraine. "This figure was achieved as a result of the redirection of gas flow into the internal networks of the company, which reduced the operating pressure in the depleted field," the division said in a message on Facebook the newswire reported. The gas pipeline will connect Chutivske and Rozpashnivske fields of the group. The construction of the gas pipeline with all necessary infrastructure was completed in eight months. "The total throughput of the new gas pipeline is 500,000 cubic meters per day. It will provide gas supply for compression and integrated treatment at Khrestysche booster compressor station. Expanding bottlenecks in the ground infrastructure is a necessary solution to stabilize production," Naftogaz said. Naftogaz Ukrainy unites the largest oil and gas companies in the country. The group is a monopoly for the storage of natural gas in underground storage facilities and the transportation of oil by pipeline throughout the country.
Naftogaz in 2020 rendered services to PJSC Gazprom (Russia) in organizing transportation of natural gas through the territory of Ukraine for $2.11bn.
"For 2020, Gazprom fully paid for the annual capacity of the Ukrainian gas transmission system (GTS) for gas transportation. According to the agreement dated December 31, 2019 between Naftogaz and Gazprom, the cost of booking 65bn cubic meters of annual capacity is $2.1bn. In addition, in the fourth quarter of 2020, Naftogaz additionally rendered services to Gazprom for the use of the Ukrainian gas transportation system, for, which it receives over $30mn," the press release of the company said.
According to the company, the total volume of Russian gas transported in 2020 amounted to 55.8bn cubic meters.

Turkish Airlines displaced Ukraine International Airlines as the top carrier in Ukraine last year, UkSATSE, the air traffic control agency, writes on Facebook. Turkish carried out 14,623 Ukraine flights. UIA carried out 14,406. The other leaders were: Belavia (Belarus) -10,644 flights; Wizz Air - 9,151; Windrose (Ukraine) - 8,511; SkyUp (Ukraine) - 8,434; LOT Polish- 6,260; and Ryanair – 5,965.
Rail container traffic grew by 11%, to 425,000 TEUs in 2020, Ukrzaliznytsia reports. The portion of traffic carried in dedicated container trains jumped by 41%, to 230,000 TEUs.
