Iranian export volume is at acceptable level - Oil Minister
Kazemeini Kazemeini, cited drilling data pointing to the possibility that the Fahlyan layer of South Yaran had no production capacity. The target was therefore reduced to 25,000 bpd, with 21,000 bpd predicted from the Sarvak layer and 4,000 bpd from the Gadvan layer. This target was later raised to 30,000 bpd, as more oil is anticipated from the Sarvak layer.
Combined reserves at North and South Yaran are estimated to be at least 2bn barrels of oil. Output from North Yaran is estimated at 30,000 bpd.
The North and South sites comprise the Iranian part of a wider formation that includes the Azadegan field, which is shared with Iraq and tapped from both sides. In Iraq, it is known as Majnoon, Arabic for ‘insane’, a reference to the deposit’s conservatively estimated 38bn barrels of oil in place (OIP).
The volume of exports of Iranian oil and petrochemical products is at an acceptable level, Iran’s Petroleum Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh announced on July 27, SHANA reported.
The official made the statement at an event to sign a contract in connection with further improvement of the South Azadegan field between local companies.
According to Zanganeh, “This year (starting from March 20, 2020), Iran's oil and petrochemical production will increase by 25mn tonnes, thus reaching 100mn tonnes worth $25bn.”
Zanganeh noted that in the near future nine contracts will be signed with local companies in Iran in connection with the preservation and increase of production volumes.
The minister also stressed that the processing potential of the Iranian oil refining company Persian Gulf Star Refinery will reach 450,000 barrels per day (bpd).
PGS currently processes 420,000 bpd of gas condensate, and also produces an average of 45mn litres of petroleum and 17mn litres of diesel/gas-oil.
Iran's oil exports are 400,000-500,000 bpd, the minister hinted.
Taking into account US sanctions, Iran has purposefully obfuscated and not provided accurate information on the indicators of oil production and exports. bne IntelliNews spoke with an independent oil tanker-tracking company, TankerTrackers.com, who stated that according to its estimates, Iran exported some 840,000 bpd in June of both crude and condensate.
China and other East Asia countries continue to be the biggest purchasers of Iranian crude and condensates, according to the company on July 28.

Imported vehicles over 2500cc cannot be licensed in Iran, government says
A member of the Tamliki Property Organisation has criticised the government over the number of vehicles imported to Iran sitting in warehouses and car parks across the country due to being over the 2500cc limit, ILNA reported on July 13.
There are several thousand vehicles stuck in warehouses across Iran after the government tightened rules on imports in 2017 including value and maximum engine size.
Car importers refused to remove the majority of the vehicles in a game of chicken with customs authorities—in some regions some models have been given licence plates, according to third-party sales websites.
Hossein Mir Moeini said that the products waiting in customs warehouses were “perishable” and that other items which do not meet specific guidelines can slip through without problems.
He added: "According to the following note of Article 33 of the law, their
