NPCC completes Umm al- Lulu gas treatment platform
Uae
EMiRATES-BASED National Petroleum Con- struction Co. (NPCC) has nalised construction of a new gas treatment platform for Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. (ADNOC).
The 35,274-tonne Umm al-Lulu gas treat- ment platform (ULGTP) is dedicated to han- dling gas from the eld of the same name, with the contract coming under the Umm al-Lulu Package 2 full- eld development deal awarded in 2013 to a consortium of NNPC and UK-based TechnipFMC for processing facilities.
e $1.69bn contract is central to ADNOC’s plans to raise the eld’s output to 100,000 barrels per day (bpd) of oil during 2020.
e ULGTP is now set to be moved to the o - shore eld for installation.
NPCC commissioned eight platforms for Umm al-Lulu Package 1 and the scope of its contract extends to the installation of more than 2,555 km of cable and 150 km of pipeline.
Austria-based, Abu Dhabi government-a li- ated OMV acquired a 20% stake in the ADNOC
O shore concession comprising Umm al-Lulu and Satah al-Razboot (SARB) in April last year and announced in September that production had come on stream at an initial capacity of 50,000 bpd.
OMV is joined in the concession by CEPSA, the Spain-based subsidiary of Abu Dhabi’s Mubadala investment Co. (MiC).
Combined output from the two assets is expected to increase to 215,000 bpd by 2023.
While the fields lie far apart, with Umm al-Lulu being located 30 km from Abu Dhabi City and SARB situated 120 km north-west of the capital, they were developed in tandem by ADNOC. e crude output from both is pro- cessed at new facilities at Zirku island.
in October 2018, ADNOC sold the rst car- goes of its new Umm al-Lulu Crude grade, com- prising production from both the eponymous eld and SARB, with india’s Reliance industries Ltd (RiL) and South Korea’s GS Caltex each pur- chasing inaugural cargoes of 50,000 barrels.™
