Kyiv’s Antonov is negotiating joint production with Turkey of its short range An-178 military cargo jets, reports Turkey’s Daily Sabah, a pro-government daily. Oleksandr Los, Antonov’s new CEO, visited Turkey last month for talks. Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba tells CNN Türk that both governments “want to start more daring projects. Projects where Turkish and Ukrainian technologies are used together. These will be competitive projects in the global sense.”
Of the 24 oblasts, there are road building winners and losers. According to Ukravtodor, the winners are: Kharkiv – 200 km; Zakarpattia - 174 km; Zaporizhia - 167 km; Luhansk - 123 km; Sumy - 122 km; Lviv - 116 km, and Poltava - 109 km. The losers are: Chernivtsi - 10 km; Kirovohrad - 11 km; Vinnytsia - 21 km, and Rivne region - 23 km.

Alexander Los, the new president of the Kyiv-based state company tells Ekonomichna Pravda. Currently, one An-178, ordered by Peru’s Interior Ministry, is moving down Antonov’s production line in Sviatoshyn, northwest Kyiv. Ukraine’s Internal Affairs Ministry has ordered another 13. In a lengthy interview, Los said the next priority is to restart production of regional jets, without Russian components. Of these, three An-148 and 10 An-158 jets are in production.
Volodomyr Zhmak, the new CEO of Ukrzaliznytsia, shows he knows which way the political winds are blowing when he tells Ekonomichna Pravda that he will ignore the strategic partnership memorandum signed last February with Deutsche Bahn. “Given the expertise that I and my team have, I do not see the need to involve any international consultants,” he says of Germany’s railroad. “I do not see the possibility and sense of attracting any foreign specialists.” Some of UZ’s freight customers might argue that the Germans have useful advice on running private freight trains on public tracks, cutting a bloated staff, and reducing rampant theft. Indeed, borrowing from the experiences of others can cut out the process of reinventing the wheel.

$27mn will be loaned for the construction and operation of Ukraine’s first Sheraton hotel, the Sheraton Kyiv Olimpiyskiy. US-based Marriott Hotels & Resort has a contract with Construction Investment Company TM to manage the hotel when it is completed. Planned a decade ago for Euro-2012 football finals, the 12-story hotel on the grounds of the Olympic Stadium later underwent a re-design, increasing the number of rooms by 6%, to 208. Assuming the coronavirus pandemic comes under control and travel returns to normal, the hotel is expected to open next year.
Ukraine’s largest manufacturer building materials, Kovalska Industrial and Construction Group, plans to invest $70mn of its own money to build five business centres in Kyiv’s Unit.City innovation park, Serhiy Pylypenko, Kovalska’s CEO, told reporters yesterday. By 2025, Kovalska plans to build “five business campuses with a total area of 70,000 square meters, he said. To
