Hess announces arrival
of Liza Destiny offshore
Guyana
Hess today announced that the Liza Destiny, Guyana’s first oil production vessel, has arrived at the Stabroek block. The floating, production, storage and off-loading (FPSO) vessel arrived following a 42-day journey from Singapore. This FPSO is a significant component of the Liza Phase 1 development, which involves four undersea drill centers with 17 wells.
After clearing customs, hookup and instal- lation of the Liza Destiny FPSO will begin. The Liza Phase 1 development is on track for startup by the first quarter of 2020 and will produce up to 120,000 gross barrels of oil per day.
The Stabroek block is 6.6mn acres (26,800 square km). ExxonMobil affiliate Esso Explo- ration and Production Guyana is operator and holds a 45% interest in the Stabroek Block. Hess Guyana Exploration holds a 30% interest and CNOOC Petroleum Guyana, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CNOOC Ltd, holds a 25% interest. Hess, August 29 2019

Pemex secures leasing
contract for two CIMC
Raffles rigs
On August 29, two 400-foot (121.9-metre) jack-up drilling rigs constructed by CIMC Raf- fles held a naming and departure ceremony at Longkou. The two rigs will soon sail to the Gulf of Mexico to provide oil and gas drilling services to Pemex. Before that, CIMC Raffles and CMIC Ocean signed leasing contracts for the two rigs.
The two rigs are named Gulf Driller VI and Gulf Driller VIII, respectively, and are currently classified by ABS.They used the JU2000E design equipped with a MHWirth drilling package; their overall length is 70 metres and breadth 76 metres. They are able to operate in waters up to 120 metres deep and drill wells down to 10,668 metres at -20 degrees Celsius, which can be oper- ated on extreme environment.
To date, CIMC Raffles has constructed 4four JU2000E and 10 Super M2 jack-up drilling rigs, thereby accumulating experience in the drilling industry. It has been recognised by international mainstream clients for its excellent performance. CIMC Raffles, August 29 2019
Subsea 7 awarded contract offshore Brazil
Subsea 7 today announced the award of a size- able contract by Total E&P do Brasil for the development of the Lapa North East field located approximately 300 km off the coast of the State of Sao Paulo, at 2,150 metres water depth in the pre-salt Santos Basin.
The work scope includes the transport, instal- lation and pre-commissioning of 35 km of flexi- ble pipelines and 20 km of umbilical, connecting 5 wells to the FPSO Cidade de Caraguatatuba. Project management and detailed engineering will commence immediately at Subsea 7’s office in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Offshore activities are due to commence in the fourth quarter 2019.
Marcelo Xavier, Subsea 7’s vice president for Brazil, said: “This contract builds on our track record of project execution offshore Brazil and reflects our commitment to work and learn together with our client to achieve successful solutions. We look forward to strengthening our relationship with Total in Brazil, through mutu- ally beneficial collaboration on this project and, in the long-term, on future developments.” Subsea 7, September 02 2019
Searcher Seismic announces multi-client campaign offshore Peru with Perupetro
Searcher is pleased to announce that it has reached agreement with Perupetro to execute four new multi-disciplinary projects as part of its Offshore Peru Multi-client Campaign. It will be the first time any single company has presented
the industry with the opportunity to interact with such an expansive collection of highly enhanced exploration data which will have ben- efited from modern processing, interpretation and digitising techniques.
Confident interpretation, regional recon- struction and play level evaluation will be deliv- ered to participants through the delivery of four new projects; Huayno 2D Pre-Stack Reprocess- ing, Peru Offshore Rectified Seismic Data on SaismicTM, Peru Offshore Well Atlas and an interpretative report titled Offshore Prospectiv- ity: A Review of Peru’s Offshore Basins.
Searcher has begun reprocessing 25,700 km of vintage 2D field data for the Huayno 2D Pre-Stack Reprocessing project. The regional 2D reprocessing project aims to provide a much-improved, consistent, regional grid cov- ering the offshore basins of Peru, with multiple vintages tying as many wells, leads and prospects as possible.
The Peru Offshore Rectified Seismic Data is all existing offshore seismic data for Peru, both 2D and 3D, rectified and loaded into Searcher’s new SaismicTMplatform for consistent and sim- ple access for explorers.
The Peru Offshore Well Atlas is comprised of a selection of 63 offshore wells, whose well reports are to be enhanced and organised prior to interpretation including evaluation, risk seg- mentation and failure/success analysis.
The report, entitled “Offshore Prospectivity: A Review of Peru’s Offshore Basins,” will provide a comprehensive regional play-based evaluation of the offshore basins of Peru based on the inter- pretation of available public domain data. The study utilises a multidisciplinary approach with emphasis on geology, geophysics (seismic, mag- netics and gravity) and geochemistry for manag- ing ongoing evaluation of the area.
