Four bids made for Belgrade airport concession
Three consortiums and one company have submitted binding bids for the 25-year concession of Serbia's largest airport, state-controlled Aerodrom Nikola Tesla (ANT), news agency Beta reported on December 13.
A public call was announced for the 25-year concession to operate the airport on February 10. The concession is expected to bring in
a €350mn-€400mn advance payment and a further €10mn-€11mn every year. The concessioner will handle the financing, development through the construction and reconstruction, maintenance and management of ANT’s infrastructure, as well as operating the airport.
A Swiss-French consortium consisting of Zurich Airport, Eiffage and Meridiam Eastern Europe Investments; an Indian-Greek consortium of GMR Infrastructure ltd and Terna, as well as the South Korean-Turkish-Cypriot consortium of Incheon International Airport Corporation, Yatirimlari ve Islatme and VTB Capital Infrastructure have started a race for ANT, according to Beta.
Also among the bidders is the French company Vinci Airports.
Russian tycoons Roman Abramovich and Alexander Abramov have acquired a stake in Russian cargo major Transcontainer, Vedomo- sti reported on December 14.
Companies close to Abramovich and Abramov acquired a 24.5% share in Transcontainer, Russia's largest container operator, from the pension fund Blagosostoyaniye.
Based on the Moscow Exchange share price, the stake was worth RUB14.7bn ($249mn) and the entire company RUB60.1bn.
In October, Russia's First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov re- portedly ordered officials to set terms for the sale of a controlling stake in Transcontainer, which is currently held by state railroads monopoly Russian Railways (RZD). Previous unconfirmed reports claimed that UCL Holding of Russian billionaire Vladimir Lisin was ready to acquire the stake from RZD.
Another major shareholder of Transcontainer is Far East port major Fesco, controlled by Ziyavudin Magomedov's Summa group.
