year . The share of Russians seeing Turkey as a hostile power has fallen six-fold.  At the beginning of 2016 just under half (47%) of Russians characterized relations between the two countries as an intense and 23% as hostile. But now 24% of respondents consider them to be intense and only another 21% thought they were hostile, according to the state owned pollster, the Russian Public Opinion Research Centre (VTsIOM). One in four (24%) assesses the situation as neutral, 19% is the ratio of "good-neighbourly, friendly and quite warm."
Two-thirds of Russia’s students (66%) believe that corruption is the main problem of the country and is hindering its development,  according to "Value orientations of the Russian students” study by the Scientific-Educational Laboratory of Political Studies of the Higher School of Economics in February 2017. The second and third places in the list of major problems were the poor quality medicine (50%) and education (44%). Some 63% of students believe that the level of culture and education of people who are in power must be significantly higher than that of ordinary citizens. In the list of 11 professions, representatives, which students do not trust the first five places are occupied by the State Duma (66%) and local authorities (65%), mayors (62%), governors (61%) and journalists (56%).
