In previous months Russian investment grew much less significantly. So, in December, January and February, Russia has invested only $100mn in US securities. At the same time from June to November 2016 Russian investment in US government bonds declined. In July, their total amount decreased by $2.7bn in August - $700mn in September - to $11bn, and in October - at $1.9bn to $74.6bn. Russia is on the 15th place in terms of ownership of US bonds. Since October 2016 remains the leader Japan, which holds the US Securities Act of about $1.12 trillion. In second place - China (about $1.09 trillion), the third - Ireland ($315.1bn), the fourth - Brazil ($259.5bn), five closes the overseas territory of Great Britain - Cayman Islands ($249.9bn). In addition, the ten largest holders of US government bonds also includes Switzerland ($234.5bn), the UK ($227.9bn), Luxembourg ($217.1bn), Hong Kong ($201.9bn) and Taiwan ($185.2bn).
