Kuwait University signs
research co-operation deal
KOC
Kuwait University signed a cooperation agreement on strategic research and development with KOC. e agreement was signed by the University’s President, Prof. Hussein Al-Ansari, and Mr. Nayef Abdulla Al-Enezi Executive Vice President for Drilling and Technology in KOC.
e signing ceremony was attended by
the Secretary General of Kuwait University Dr. Muthanna Al-rifai, Vice President for research Dr. Jassim Al-Kandari, the deans of College of Science and College of Engineering and Petroleum, the Director of research and Development Group Mr. Ahmad Al Jasmi and a number of team leaders.
e ve-year agreement aims at cooperation in the eld of reservoirs, heavy oil and natural gas, and aims to exchange technology, knowledge and capacity development in research and development.
In this regard, KU President, Prof. Hussein Al Ansari expressed his joy with the joint research cooperation between the two sides, extending his appreciation to Kuwait Oil Company, adding that agreement is one
of the most important agreements that are implemented within the framework of the strategy of Kuwait University.
For his part, Executive Vice President for Drilling and Technology in KOC, Mr. Nayef Abdullah Al-Enzi welcomed the attendees from Kuwait University, stressing on the importance of cooperation between the two parties in the service of research
and development, which is in the interest of Kuwait.
He praised the role of researchers at Kuwait University and their experience in applied research that serves all the oil sectors, pointing out that this agreement covers the research cooperation between the University and the Kuwait Oil Company, in light of the great challenges facing the oil sector imposed by the technological reality and the need to improve production and re ning operations Industrial and technological research during the scienti c research to nd the most appropriate solutions that correspond to the nature of the oil industry and the strategic priorities of the State of Kuwait.
Within the de ned terms of the agreement, Kuwait University, represented by the External research and Consulting O ce of the research Sector, shall focus on supporting the company’s decision-making on intellectual property protection. is will include patents and analysis of the technical and marketing value of intellectual property to assist strategic decision-making. In addition to the exchange of experiences among faculty members at Kuwait University with researchers from the Kuwait Oil Company.

NIOC to sell another 2mn barrels on energy exchange
e National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) has planned to o er 2 million barrels of heavy crude oil on the Iran Energy Exchange (IrENEX) on July 9.
e base price for this o er is $57.66 per
barrel, and the minimum purchase volume is 35,000 barrels.
Buyers can receive their cargo(es) up to three months a er the transaction, and the delivery of the cargo(es) in other areas is subject to approval by the National Iranian Oil Company.
is is the fourth heavy crude oil o ering of NIOC on the Iran Energy Exchange and the second heavy supply of crude oil in the current calendar year which began on March 21. On the rst o ering of this year, 70,000 barrels of heavy crude were traded.
On May 21, NIOC o ered 2 million barrels of crude oil on IrENEX.
In the third o ering, on April 30, 70,000 barrels of crude oil were traded.

Zentech awarded multi-year ADNOC Drilling contract
Zentech, Inc. has been selected by ADNOC Drilling on an exclusive basis to provide comprehensive engineering support for all ADNOC Drilling engineering needs for both their O shore and Onshore drilling rigs.
e award includes the full range of the engineering service provision of Zentech including but not limited to structural engineering, marine engineering, naval architecture, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering. is all-encompassing contract is for a three-year period.
