earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation by an average of 10-15% over the next five years.
One new development project is a
wind power farm in southern Laos, selling electricity to Vietnam’s state utility, Vietnam Electricity (EVN), said Bundit.
BCPG will invest through its subsidiary, Impact Energy Asia Development Co, which is expected to sign a power purchase agreement (PPA) with EVN soon to operate in 2023.
This project requires 400,000 rai or 64,000 hectares to operate a wind catcher tower.
A takeover deal saw the company acquire Nam San 3B Power Sole Co, the owner of Nam San 3A and 3B hydropower plants and transmission line system in Laos, worth $113mn (3.45bn baht) in February.

Hualong One passes key test
China’s first nuclear power unit using Hualong One technology, a domestically developed third-generation reactor design, has completed a key test, according to China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC).
The successful hot functional test on the power unit, which was completed in the eastern Chinese city of Fuqing, marked an important step in the development of the unit before the process of fuel loading, according to CNNC.
Hualong One reactors were jointly designed by two nuclear power giants, China General Nuclear Power Group and the CNNC, and passed inspection by a national panel in August 2014.
The nuclear power unit, which began construction in 2015, is expected to start operation this year.
At present, CNNC has five Hualong One nuclear power units under construction.

Vestas secures first order
for low-wind turbine in
China
Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas Wind Systems announced this week that it
had received the first order for its new V155- 3.3MW wind turbine designed for low and ultra-low wind conditions. Vestas will supply 61 turbines and towers to two projects in China totalling 201MW.
Vestas’ new V155-3.3MW wind turbine was introduced to the Chinese market in June of last year, seeking to fill a gap which utilises the growth of wind turbine efficiency to make even more sites viable for wind energy.
This particular trend is vitally important in China, the world’s largest wind energy market, where the wind industry is up
against an increasingly competitive business environment with the transition to grid parity pricing as well as a more decentralised energy infrastructure with distributed wind projects.
n seeking to meet the need of Chinese wind energy developers, Vestas introduced its V155-3.3MW wind turbine, which combines the largest rotor with the lowest power rating of the company’s 4MW platform which optimises a project’s capacity factor in low wind speeds.
By using lower rotor rotational speeds,
the V155-3.3MW turbine’s low sound power levels combined with its full-scale converter’s advanced grid capabilities make it highly suitable for China’s centralised projects as well as the number of distributed wind energy projects.
Vestas confirmed that it had received its first order for 61 of the V155-3.3MW wind turbines as well as towers and a 5-year Active Output Management service contract. Both projects are part of China’s ongoing auction scheme but details of both customer and project names are undisclosed at the moment.
“This order comes less than six months after the introduction of V155-3.3MW,
He said BCPG took over the entire ownership from Phongsubthavy Roads and Bridges Construction and Irrigation, a local business firm.
The Nam San 3B and Nam San 3A plants have a combined capacity of 114 megawatts and have been in operation since 2015, with a concession of 27 years. It is also selling electricity to Vietnam’s EVN.
For new developments, the company has four licences from Japan’s policymakers to develop and operate solar power farms with combined capacity of 100MW.
a
The four solar farms are slated to start development soon and operate during 2021- 2022.
BCPG wants to expand existing projects
in Indonesia by increasing the capacity of a geothermal power plant from 157MW, adding 24MW after signing a PPA with Indonesia’s state utility recently.
