8.3.2 Dividends dynamics
Sberbank confirmed that the bank would direct 20% of net income under RAS to dividends , with the remainder to be used to increase the bank's capital. Given that the Sberbank's net income for 2016 was RUB517bn, total dividends will be around RUB100bn ($1.73bn). This implies RUB4.4 ($0.076) per common and preferred share, and offers 2.6% and 3.5% dividend yields, respectively. Sberbank is sticking to its historical dividend policy, and the news is in line with market expectations and thus neutral for the stock price performance.
