Ukrainian grocery delivery business, Zakaz.ua has attracted $10mn in investments over the ten-year period of its operations. Currently, 100,000 customers use the company's application. The company's Commercial Director, Evgeniy Netreba said, “We want to build not just an e-commerce company, but also understand what the client wants and anticipate their desires”.
Ukrposhta to build fully-automated mail sorting complex in Dnipro.
Ukraine’s state-owned postal service Ukrposhta signed an agreement with Grand Impeks to construct a fully-automated mail sorting complex in the regional capital of Dnipro on November 19. The step is expected to speed up delivery times. The new facility will be built on an eight-hectare plot close to the Dnipro airport. The project will cost Ukrposhta $49mn. The company hopes the complex will become the main location to sort and process postal items for central Ukraine. Ukrposhta is Ukraine’s biggest postal service with over 11,000 post offices across the country. Yet its main rival, the privately owned Nova Poshta, leads in shipment of both mail and packages.
Ukrainian-based startup Matter Labs raised $ 50 mln. Founded by Ukrainian Oleksiy Hlukhivsky, startup Matter Labs is developing an Ethereum blockchain scaling protocol that reduces traffic in the main chain of Ethereum blocks. This solution allows developers to reap the benefits of fast and cheap transactions without losing the security of the Ethereum ecosystem (Matter Labs website).
Nova Poshta to deliver parcels from Kyiv to Lviv by drone. The company delivered 10 parcels weighing 2 kg from Kyiv to Lviv by a drone that flew 500 km with a payload of up to 16 kg. In addition to that, it can climb to a height of 900 meters and spend up to 12 hours in the air without additional recharging. The range of the communication channel for remote control is 200 km.
Glovo chose Kyiv for expansion into the markets of post-Soviet countries. The Spanish company Glovo, which offers a delivery service via a mobile application, estimates its share in the Ukrainian market at 80%. Glovo continues to grow: in April, the company raised €450mn in the next investment round. “In Ukraine, we plan to work on the development of a global product that we will develop for neighboring countries Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan", said CTO of Glovo, Narek Verdyan.

Centrenergo is ready to invest ₴450mn in four coal faces. Centrenergo is ready to finance the commissioning of four coal longwalls to the value of ₴450mn ($17.1mn), said First Deputy Chairman of the State Property Fund, Denis Kudin. “We are ready to lend a hand to the state mines and finance them in advance. In fact, we are ready to make a large advance payment for coal in future periods, so that the state mines could mount their faces”, Kudin said in an interview with Energoreform.
