Zynga entered into an agreement to acquire 80% of Istanbul-based Rollic, a mobile games developer, for a consideration of $168mn (See Section 9.2.7).
Games developers in Turkey have reportedly attracted around $2.4bn in investments over the past five years from the likes of Tencent Holdings, Netmarble Corp. and Zynga Inc.
Previously this year, Zynga acquired Peak for $1.8bn.
France’s Imerys has signed an agreement to acquire a majority stake of 60% of Turkey’s Haznedar group. The deal gives the buyer an option to acquire the remaining shares at a later date.
Russian energy giant Oteko Group is exiting the Turkish market that it entered eight years ago by selling its stake in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) wholesaler Petgaz.
Austrian Post has closed a transaction to boost its stake in Turkish parcel services provider Aras Kargo to 80% from 25%. Aras Kargo’s revenues stood at Turkish lira (TRY) 1.4bn (around €215mn) last year. It ships around 127mn parcels and 29mn documents per annum. It employs 14,000 people and operates a fleet of 4,500 vehicles.
