Investment growth in Russia this year is projected at 3.1%, said First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov at a meeting with President Vladimir Putin.
“This year, investments are projected to increase by 3.1%, and starting from 2022, it is necessary to achieve an investment growth trajectory of 5-6% per year. A system for stimulating investment activity is being built for this task. It includes four main elements, ”Belousov said.
According to him, last year the drop in investments was 1.4%, which is about half as much as expected in the fall. At the same time, in the fourth quarter of last year, the growth rates of investments became positive, that is, the volume of investments turned out to be more than the corresponding period of 2019 by 1.2%.
4.5 Labour and income
4.5.1 Labour market, unemployment dynamics
The number of workers aged 15 and over in March 2021 amounted to 75.0mn people , of which 71.0mn people were classified as employed in economic activity and 4.1mn people were classified as unemployed, meeting the ILO criteria (i.e. did not have a job or profitable occupation, were looking for a job and were ready to start it in the surveyed week). The unemployment rate (the ratio of the number of unemployed to the number of labor force) in March 2021 was 5.4%.
The coronacrisis has left Russia without enough immigrant labour.
Responding to a question about the wide spread racism against immigrants to Russia from the countries to Russia’s south according to a new study, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said: “To be honest, I haven’t heard of this sociological research about the Russian attitude to immigrants,” Peskov said. “I can only state the reality that there have been very few migrants in our
