Novatek Closes Arctic LNG 2 Transaction
Novatek today announced the closing of the sale of participation interests in Arctic LNG 2 Project to wholly owned subsidiary of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), wholly owned subsidiary of CNOOC (CNOOC), and the consortium of Mitsui & Co and Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation (Japan Arctic LNG).
“We now have formed the structure of the Project’s participants by successfully closing the sale of interests in Arctic LNG 2,” noted Leonid Mikhelson, Novatek’s Chairman of the Management Board. “ e target level of Novatek’s participation has been reached, allowing us to make the  nal investment decision and optimally use the Company’s cash  ow to  nance our new projects”. NNPC to supply India’s national crude oil demand
 e Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has expressed its readiness to continue to supply 10% of India’s crude oil demand in the face of competing demand
for the product from other countries.  is commitment was made today by the Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Mallam Mele Kyari, during a visit by the Indian High Commissioner to Nigeria, His Excellency, Abhay  akur, a press release by the corporation’s Group General Manager, Group
Public A airs Division, Mr. Ndu Ughamadu, stated.
 e GMD stated that Nigeria, through the corporation, would continue to support India’s energy security, adding that the recent Memorandum of Understanding in the area of energy between Nigeria and India would be consummated to further strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries.
Mallam Kyari stated that NNPC was desirous of growing the energy cooperation with India and that it was time to progress from just talking to walking the talk.
Earlier, the Indian High Commissioner
to Nigeria, His Excellency Abhay  akur, thanked the management of the corporation for the recent renewal of the crude oil term contracts for three Indian companies and sued for increment in the crude oil supply in view of the increasing energy needs of India.
He disclosed that India was ready
to provide credit line mechanisms and expertise to help NNPC revamp its massive infrastructure across the country.

Sinopec finds gas in Bangladesh
Sinopec has found an onshore natural gas prospect at Shariatpur in central Bangladesh. Sinopec carried out a 2D seismic survey in blocks 3B, 6B and 7 over the past year and
a half. It is the  rst sign of gas sign Bapex’s discovery at Rupganj in 2014.
“It could  nd only one prospective spot for natural gas reserves at Shariatpur, which is located near gas-rich Bakhrabad and Shahbazpur gas  elds,” Bapex managing director Abdul Hannan told the Financial Express.

MHB secures Kasawari gas
development project from
Petronas
Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Holdings Berhad (MHB) wishes to announce that its wholly owned subsidiary, Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering (MMHE) has been awarded a contract from Petronas Carigali to undertake the engineering, procurement, construction, installation
and commissioning (EPCIC) works for the Kasawari Gas Development project.
 e EPCIC contract includes the
construction of 47,000 tonnes of Central Processing Platform (CPP), 8,600 tonnes
of Wellhead Platform (WHP) and a Flare Structure, together with two bridges linking the CPP to the WHP and the Flare Structure.  e contract also involves the transportation and installation of an 85-kilometres pipeline linking the Kasawari CPP to the existing E11R-A platform.
Wan Mashitah Wan Abdullah Sani, managing director and CEO of MHB, commented, “ is award is a representation of continued trust in our capability in providing o shore solutions and producing the desired results. Our aim is to deliver all projects e ciently, without compromising on safety and quality”.

MOL names ice-breaking LNG carrier
Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) today announced that on July 18, a naming ceremony for an ice- breaking LNG carrier, jointly ordered by MOL and China COSCO Shipping Corporation Limited (China COSCO Shipping), was
held at Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co., Ltd. (DSME).
As a crowd of VIPs, including personnel from Novatek, the main shareholder of
the Yamal LNG project, looked on, the newbuilding vessel was named the Nikolay Urvantsev.  e name Nikolay Urvantsev
was chosen in honor of the famous Russian Arctic explorer and geologist.  e Nikolay Urvantsev is the sister vessel of the Vladimir Rusanov and Vladimir Vize, which started transport service in 2018 under a long-term charter contract to transport LNG for the YAMAL LNG Project.  e Nikolay Urvantsev
