Ukraine's Household Debt reached $8.6bn in September 2019, compared with the reported number of $8.4bn in the previous month​.Ukraine's household debt accounted for 5.7% of the country's GDP in December 2018, compared with the ratio of 5.8% in the previous year.
Household debt has fallen rapidly in recent years to circa 5% of GDP. The population remains very underleveraged — a third of the level in Russia in per centage of GDP terms and a tenth in per capita dollar terms — which means a credit-fuelled retail boom is still ahead. However, per capita household debt in dollar terms has crept up slightly this year from $174 to $204 as of September this year.
