IndianOil keeps operations steady
All operating locations of IndianOil - bulk storage points, LPG distributorships and fuel stations - are functioning normally under the advisory of their respective State Governments/local administrations for maintaining essential services of petroleum products to the public.
The Corporation’s terminals & depots, LPG distributorships and fuel stations are well- stocked with petrol, diesel and LPG, and there is no shortage of essential products. Customers are advised not to panic, or resort to hoarding and panic-buying.
As compared to that of auto-fuels and
ATF, the demand for LPG has seen a marginal increase in March 2020 (as on date) vis-a-
vis LPG demand in the month of February 2020. For the past 10 days, IndianOil has been delivering on an average 25 lakh cylinders every day to the doorsteps of its customers. Despite crude cuts, IndianOil refineries are maintaining LPG production close to normal levels by optimising LPG yields with higher severity operation of their main LPG producing units, that is, FCCU and Indmax.
LPG customers are, therefore, advised
not to resort to panic-booking or visit the showrooms and godowns of their LPG distributorships for obtaining refills. They can book for LPG refills from their own homes through SMS/IVRS, WhatsApp(75888-88824) or online (IndianOilOne mobile app or https:// cx.indianoil.in ) or @Paytm for delivery of LPG refill cylinders at their doorsteps. Customers are requested to make digital payments wherever possible to avoid unnecessary handling of currency notes in view of Covid-19. The LPG emergency helpline number 1906 is also fully operational.
All 119 Aviation Fuel Stations of IndianOil
across the country are operating with optimum strength and full safety precautions to meet the aviation fuel (ATF) needs of Defence aircraft, cargo flights and medical ambulances.
Despite the challenges posed by Covid-19 lockdown, IndianOil is fully geared to maintain smooth supply of petroleum products to its customers. The Corporation has put in place robust plans for POL movement and stock-ups at upcountry locations. Even in the face of restricted movement of people and vehicles, IndianOil is ensuring loading of petrol, diesel and LPG at its bulk storage/distribution points with optimised manpower.

McDermott announces
technology award by
Southeast Asian refiner
McDermott International today announced that Chevron Lummus Global (CLG), McDermott’s joint venture with Chevron, has been awarded a sizeable contract by
a Southeast Asian refiner for the license, engineering and supply of proprietary catalyst and equipment for its Lubricant Base Oil Group II Project to be built in Southeast Asia.
The new 5,200-barrels-per-day unit will employ CLG’s state-of-the-art lubricant base oil technologies for premium lube base oil
production. Currently, the refinery produces only Group I lube base oils, and this project will allow them to meet growing regional demand for premium lubricant base oils.
“The lubricant base oil technology that we license through Chevron Lummus Global has helped our customers produce greater yields and better quality base oils, which was an important factor in the selection process of this project,” said Leon de Bruyn, Senior Vice President of McDermott’s Lummus Technology business. “With the recent award of several new projects in the region, CLG cherishes solid, long-standing relationships with refiners in the Asia Pacific region.”

ADB provides loan to China Gas for Hubei gas supplies
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and China Gas Holdings Ltd. (CGH) today signed a $20 million private sector loan agreement to support natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) deliveries to households, hospitals, industry, and services crucial to the
ongoing response to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and the post-pandemic recovery in Wuhan and other affected areas in Hubei province, the People’s Republic of China (PRC).
CGH is currently the main supplier of natural gas and LPG to households and commercial
and industrial users in Wuhan, the center
of the outbreak, and provides clean energy services to more than 3 million end-users in Hubei province. It is the only company with the logistical capacity to maintain stable supplies of LPG to Wuhan city through inland waterways using vessels from its port in coastal Zhejiang province. Its broad operational footprint makes it critical to the pandemic response in the PRC by providing essential supplies of LPG and natural gas to affected areas.
“I am very grateful to ADB for providing financing assistance to fight the coronavirus outbreak, based on our partnership to promote clean energy,” said CGH Executive Chairman and President Liu Minghui. “We have been at the frontline since day one of the outbreak. We faced numerous difficulties to secure gas supply to households and satisfy the needs of medical institutions for emergency supplies. Through our online service platform and logistics system, we deliver not only gas but also food items that are essential to affected communities under lockdown.”
