Russian state agencies and military experts surveyed by RBC business portal question the SIPRI methodology. Rostec state technology agency (also includes RosOboronExport Russian state arms exports agency) claimed that Russia's arms sales have been growing for the past 10 years reaching a record-high of $13.7bn in 2018.
RosOboronExport sold a record $19bn worth of weapons in 2018, Vedomosti daily reported on November 1 citing a press-release of the company. In 2017 the company sold $15bn worth of weapons.
