Microsoft, Vodafone team up to develop Turkish AI assistant
Microsoft and Vodafone Turkey are to develop an AI-based digital assistant, state-run news service Anadolu has reported.
A Turkish version of Vodafone's digital assistant TOBi is being developed using Microsoft's natural language understanding technology LUIS, Micro- soft Turkey general manager Murat Kansu said.
He added that this was the first time Microsoft was using Turkish as a factory-default language.
TOBi was created to respond to customer queries on bills, tariffs, devices and prices.
"In the first phase, TOBi will be able to make written communication; in the next phase it will be able to understand speech," Kansu said.
Kansu went on to say that the project was being developed by Turkish engineers and was com- pletely indigenous.
