Ukraine’s agriculture sector is booming and has become a significant source of revenues for the country. In 2019 Ukraine became once again the world’s biggest exporter of grain and with investment into the sector by the leading companies this is a title it is likely to hang onto in 2020, earning over $20bn a year from exports.
Growth is being driven too by the slow opening of European markets to Ukrainian agricultural products. For example the tonnage of edible snails that Ukraine exported to Europe tripled in 2019 as the number of firms accredited to export snails to the EU more than tripled to 17.
