The annual inflation rate in Russia rose to 4% in October 2020 from 3.7% in the previous month, in line with market expectations and matching the central bank's target. It was the highest inflation rate since September 2019, as cost advanced faster for both food products (4.8% vs 4.4% in September) and non-food products (4.2% vs 3.8%). Meantime, services inflation remained steady (at 2.5%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices were up 0.4%, after a 0.1% fall in September. source: Federal State Statistics Service
Russia's producer prices rose 0.7% from a year earlier in October 2020,
after being unchanged in the previous month. It was the first increase in producer prices since August 2019, with upward pressure coming from manufacturing (3.1%), electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning (4.4%) and water supply (4.1%). Meanwhile, cost for mining dropped 8.0%. On a monthly basis, producer prices advanced 0.3% in October.
