Mortgage-financed homes sales fell 24% y/y to 17,000 units after rising more than 90% in March.
In the first four months of the year, home sales dropped nearly 9% on an annual basis to 384,000 units while mortgage-financed sales rose 141% y/y to 146,000 units.
State-owned lenders have been providing cheap loans for months to boost demand for properties.

“All of the 436 shopping centres in the country will open by June,” said Huseyin Altas, head of Turkey’s Shopping Centre Investors Association.
Turkey produced 109,330 tonnes of honey and 3,971 tonnes of wax in 2019, according to data from the country's Agriculture and Forestry Ministry.
Derived from 80,675 Turkish apicultural firms, the honey exports, including pine honey, totalled $23.76mn in value.
Last year, 54,734 apiculture producers in Turkey benefited from government supports.
There were 8.13mn bee hives in the country as of the end of 2019, the official data also showed.

Digital Turkey Platform, the Turkey arm of Digital Europe, released on May 8 a report on the coronavirus (COVID-19) impact on Turkey’s software and informatics industries.
Almost half of participants surveyed for the report said that they had problems with suppliers in China, EU member states and Turkey, while 63% saw uncertainties as regards their customers and 57% faced order cancellations.
A total of 40% had suspended their investment plans although 71% said they saw themselves as better off than other sectors in terms of COVID-19 problems.
Employee layoffs were planned by 51% and 77% expected a deterioration in their financials.
As many as 97% expected to see countrywide layoffs and a GDP contraction in Turkey this year.

Turkey’s foreign tourist arrivals figure collapsed by 68% y/y in March to 718,000, tourism ministry data has shown.
Only 74,000 Germans travelled to Turkey in the month versus 191,000 a year earlier while the number of Russian arrivals declined to 78,000 from 139,000.
