Imports of clothes from non-EU countries came mainly from China (€23 billion, or 29% of total extra-EU clothes), Bangladesh (€15 billion, 19%) and Turkey (€9 billion, 11%).
Turkey’s white goods market saw a 14% decline in sales on an annual basis in April​, data from trade association TURKBESD have ​shown​.
Combined sales of refrigerators, washing machines, dish washers and ovens stood at 405,000 units in the month.
The Turkish white goods industry’s exports dropped 52% y/y to 732,000 units.
In January-April, sales on the domestic market amounted to 1.79mn units, marking a 2% y/y decline while exports fell by 15% y/y to 4.9mn units.
