Retail trade in Belarus increased by 10.1% to BYN17.2bn ($8.6bn)
year-on-year in January-May , according to the national statistics agency Belstat. Wholesale trade totalled increased by.3% y/y to BUN36.4bn in comparable prices in January-May, while one-day retail sales per capita made up BYN12 as against BYN10.3. Retail trade by trade companies accounted for 88.8% of the total and amounted to BYN15.3bn, up by 12.4% y/y in comparable prices. Trade by public catering facilities increased by 13.3% y/y to BYN955.2mn in comparable prices, BELTA news agency reported on June 18.

In January-May 2018 Belarus increased the export of merchandise and services by 21.9% in comparison with the same period of last year to $16.7bn , says the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB).
Belarus' trade in merchandise and services totalled $33.1bn, 22.3% up from January-May 2017.
Export amounted to $16.7bn (21.9% up), with import going over $16.4bn (22.7% up).
The surplus of the foreign trade in merchandise and services amounted to $309.7mn.
Merchandise trade rose by 22.7% to $27.7bn. Merchandise export went up by 22% to $13.3bn, with import up by 23.3% to $14.4bn. The deficit of merchandise trade reached $1.11bn, up from $785mn in January-May 2017.
Trade in services amounted to $5.374bn, 120.4% as against January-May 2017. Export of services reached $3.397bn (121.3%), with import at $1.977bn (118.8%). The surplus of the foreign trade in services reached $1.4bn, 24.9% up from January-May 2017.
