    Sales of new motorcycles and mopeds jumped by 50% last year y/y, to 34,000,​ reports Auto-Consulting. The analytical group reports: “The Ukrainian motorcycle market experienced a real “boom” in sales in 2019 and will surely go down in history as one of the most successful.”

Over the past five years, the passenger flow at Ukrainian airports has doubled,​ rising from 10.7mn in 2015 to 24.3mn in 2019, reports the State Aviation Administration.
The number of Ukrainians traveling internationally by airplane jumped by 30% last year, to 15.1mn​, reports Ukraine’s Border Guard Service. By contrast, land crossings of Ukraine’s border with its four EU neighbors were flat – 36.7mn people of all nationalities. And land crossings on the Russia-Ukraine border – by all nationalities – were down by 10% to 10mn. Commercial air flights between Russia and Ukraine stopped four years ago. Further underlining the EU allure, the numbers of Ukrainians traveling to Belarus were down 9% and to Moldova were down 6%.
Passenger traffic at Ukrainian airports grew by 18.5% y/y, to 24.3mn people in 2019​, reports the State Aviation Service of Ukraine. By comparison, air passenger traffic in 2018 grew by 24.5%, to 20.5mn people. Last year, international travel grew by 20%. It accounted for 90.5% of all air travel in Ukraine.
UIA was the only airline of the top 10 serving Ukraine to cut its flights last year.​ UIA cut its flights by 5%, to 58,773, according to UkSATSE, the air traffic control agency. All others enjoyed double-digit growth. Discount airlines showed the fastest growth: Ryanair was up 438%, to 9,295 flights; Wizz Air was up 37%, to 20,944; and SkyUp was up 341% to 10,061.
Low cost carriers should increase their share of Ukraine’s market to 45% this year​, and to 63% by 2024, says Infrastructure Minister Vladyslvav Krykliy. “We will do our best to make air travel as commonplace for Ukrainians as traveling by bus or rail,” Kricli said Dec. 24, at a ceremony welcoming Boryspil’s 15mnth passenger for 2019. By 2024, the number of Ukrainians traveling by air should triple, to 32mn, he said.
Kyiv Boryspil increased its passenger traffic by 21.1%, to 15.3mn people.
Once again Ukraine’s busiest airport, Boryspil handled 63% of the nation’s traffic. With the re-opening of Terminal F last spring for international low-cost carriers, Boryspil saw its international traffic increased by 22.2%. Its domestic traffic grew by only 8.3%. To improve airport amenities and to earn more revenue, the State Property Fund announced Monday that it intends to rent at public auction 14 lots in Terminal D and 15 in Terminal F.
Traffic at Kyiv’s second airport, Sikorsky, was down 7% last year, to 2.6mn passengers​. Traffic suffered from the move by SkyUp and half a dozen airlines last spring to Boryspil’s Terminal F. With last weekend’s closing of
