Grain exports fell by 10%, but export revenues grew by 6%  in the marketing year that ended July 1, reports the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food. In the July 2017 / June 2018 marketing year, Ukraine exported 39.4mn tons of grains, down from 43.8mn tons the previous marketing year. Corn is king in the latest export lineup: corn – 17.74mn tons; wheat exports -- 17.14mn tons; barley -- 4.29mn tons; and rye - 36.8 tons. Sales from grain exports totalled $6.4bn, according to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.
Ukraine in the first half of 2018 exported fruit and berries worth $100mn , which is 59% more than in the same period of 2017. According to the Ukrsadprom association, the main products in the structure of exports remain walnuts worth $64mn, frozen berries for $23mn, apples and pears for $8mn. "Compared with last year, the volume of walnut exports increased from 12,000 to 19,000 tonnes, apples and pears from 6,000 to 24,000 tonnes, while the deliveries of frozen berries decreased slightly from 17,000 to 14,000 tonnes," the report says. The main buyers of Ukrainian gardening products, according to the association, are the countries of the European Union, which account for more than 60% of the value of exports. "In the six months, the largest fruit supplies in monetary terms from Ukraine were made to Poland for $11.2mn, France for $9.9mn, Turkey for $9.3mn, Belarus for $8mn, Germany for $5.1mn, Greece for $5mn and the Netherlands for $4.7mn," the report says. As noted, Ukrainian apples are mostly delivered to Belarus (46% of the value of supplies), Moldova (21%), and Sweden (10%).
Ukraine’s rye exports in 2017/2018 soar . 38.5 thousand tonnes of rye were exported in the 2017/18 marketing year, which is the highest figure for the last four seasons, APK-inform announced. In the 2017/18 marketing season, Ukraine supplied 38.5 thousand tonnes of rye to foreign markets, which is 3.3 times higher than in the last marketing year and is the highest for the last four seasons, Ukrinform reports. The largest volume was exported to Poland - 19.4 thousand tonnes, followed by Tunisia (6.1 thousand tonnes), Israel (4.6 thousand tonnes) and Spain (4.6 thousand tonnes).
Ukraine exported 67,600 tonnes of sugar in June of the current marketing year (2017/2018 MY, September through August), which is 25% more  than in the previous month, the National Association of Sugar Producers, Ukrtsukor, has reported. "Large batches of sugar in June were shipped to Uzbekistan (51%), Libya (35%), while smaller batches were exported to Azerbaijan (5%), Armenia and Georgia (3% each)," the head of the association's analytical department Ruslana Butylo has said. In the 10 months of the current MY (since September 2017), Ukrainian producers exported 501,000 tonnes of sugar, which is 32% less than in the same period last year.
Russia extends restrictions on transit of Ukrainian goods to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan . Russia has extended restrictions on the transit of goods from Ukraine to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan for another six months. Since 1 January 2016, Russia has banned the transit of Ukrainian exports through Russian territory. According to the Economic Development Ministry of Ukraine, the volume of transit amounted to about $1.8bn a year. On 2 January of the same year, Ukraine imposed import duties on a wide range of Russian goods and commodity groups in the amount of 1.5% to 19%.
