Sweden’s Ikea is posting 19 vacancies for its first Ukraine store, in Kyiv,
on Rabota.ua, the job hunting site. Without specifying a store opening date, Stefan Vanoverbeke, Country Retail Manager for IKEA South East Europe, vows: “We are bringing our vision of creating a better everyday life to the many people of Ukraine.”
MHP, Ukraine’s largest poultry producer, launched on June 1 the first line of its Vinnytsia Phase II facility . With these new chicken barns, MHP, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange, should raise its poultry production by 7% this year, to 610,000 tons, calculates Dragon Capital.
MHP is to invest $300mn in a second production line at their Vinnytsia poultry farm , Production at the farm is currently 280,000 tonnes a year. The new investment will boost this to 560,000 tonnes by 2020. MHP is the largest poultry producer in Ukraine and a major food exporter to Europe and the Middle East. The company owned by Ukrainian businessman Yuriy Kosiuk also produces grains, sunflower oil, and meat, its press service reports.
US-based AGCO aims to double to 20% its share of Ukraine’s market of foreign farm machinery by 2021 , Rob Smith, company general manager for Europe, tells Interfax-Ukraine. The maker of Massey Ferguson, Fendt, and Valtra agricultural machinery, AGCO is spreading its dealerships across Ukraine. Last year marked a post-Independence high for national sales of imported farm equipment – 3,500 tractors. Based in Duluth, Georgia, AGCO makes tractors, combines, feed preparation equipment, self-propelled sprayers and tillage machines.
Ukraine's grain trader Nibulon is going to implement a $2bn investment programme in Egypt , where the company is one of the major suppliers of Ukrainian grain, according to statement by Nibulon published on June 3. "This is a long-term investment programme. It provides for a total investment of up to $2bn and it is designed for seven-ten years", said Nibulon’s general director Oleksiy Vadaturskyy said n the statement. "The first stage of this project in 2018-2019 is investment of up to $200mn. The programme implementation also provides for the opening of Nibulon’s enterprise in Egypt that will work in accordance with the Egyptian law."
