Lukoil CEO donates
RUB50mn for combatting
COVID-19
President of Lukoil Vagit Alekperov donated RUB50mn of personal finances to improve equipment of the Central District Hospital of Usinsk. This money is used to buy up-to-date artificial respiration units, bedside monitors, surgical beds, ECG recorders, and other equipment and materials that will help medical professionals of Usinsk to get ready for the possible influx of COVID-19 patients.
“It is a noble action, a great example of our social partners’ active involvement in the fight against COVID-19. I would like to extend
a heartfelt “thank you” to Vagit Alekperov personally and to Lukoil for their help that
is especially important today for our region,” noted Vladimir Uyba, Acting Head of the Republic of Komi.
“This help is immeasurable. Now we will
be able to provide intensive care to a larger number of patients and to significantly improve quality of the medical services. New protective gear and antiseptic agents will help to shield our healthcare personnel from infection,” said Maxim Churkin, the head physician of the Central District Hospital of Usinsk.
The epidemiologic situation in Usinsk remains one of the most difficult in the Republic of Komi. As an industrialized city, Usinsk attracts a great number of non-resident workers, which leads to higher risks of disease dissemination. Due to this, at the end of April authorities of Usinsk introduced additional epidemic prevention measures including entrance control.
Previously, Lukoil allocated funds to install
in the infectious disease ward of the Central District Hospital of Usinsk a centralized oxygen and compressed air supply system that is essential for intensive care and artificial respiration units to function. Construction of the hospital Wi-Fi network with unlimited Internet access is also underway. Since 10th of April Lukoil has been fueling ambulances and hospital cars in the Republic of Komi free of charge.

Moscow refinery tests 100% of workers for COVID-19
Gazprom Neft’s Moscow Refinery conducted preventive testing for COVID-19 of all employees of the enterprise and contracting organisations involved in ensuring a continuous production process. The tests were carried out in laboratories certified by Rospotrebnadzor. Regular testing allows you to identify carriers of the virus at
an early stage without external symptoms and,
if necessary, to identify contact groups for isolation before confirming the diagnosis. The measures were implemented as part of the Barrier programme, a large-scale corporate programme of Gazprom Neft for testing employees and contractors for COVID-19 in all regions of the company’s activity.
The Moscow Refinery is a continuous production enterprise and continues to produce fuel for the smooth operation of urban infrastructure. At the refinery, all necessary safety measures are taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19. At checkpoints, automatic temperature control systems for employees work. The flow of employees in the territory is differentiated. To maintain social distance in common areas, special markings are applied to the floor. Regular processing of premises and official vehicles with antiseptic agents is carried out. A remote mode of operation is organised for all employees over 60. Workers involved
in the production comply with the wearing
of personal protective equipment; regular disinfection of premises and official vehicles is carried out.

First Russian Aframax tanker launched at Zvezda
The first Russian Aframax tanker “Vladimir Monomakh” was heaved off at the Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex.
The powerful new-generation tanker is designed to transport oil in unrestricted navigation. The vessel is designed in compliance with high environmental safety standards. The main and additional power supply units can operate on both traditional and green fuel, the liquefied natural gas, which meets new world environmental standards.
The length of the vessel is 250 metres, width 44 metres, deadweight 114,000 tonnes, speed 14.6 knots, ice class ICE-1A. Zvezda’s portfolio already has 12 orders for vessels of such type.
The launch of the first vessel on Zvezda was a unique operation. The Aframax tanker was launched with the Vympel floating transfer dock, one of the largest in Russia. Preparation for the launch took almost a day. Within this time, the tanker was rolled by
a vessel trolley-transporter from the open outfitting slip to the floating dock, and then taken to the waters.
The construction history of this type of tankers has begun with the visit of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin
to the Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex in September 2017. It was then that a package agreement was signed for the design, construction, technical supervision, operation and training of the crews of 10 Aframax class tankers.
On September 11 2018, in the presence of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the laying of the first Aframax class tanker with a deadweight of 114 thousand tonnes took place.
Prior to heaving off the first tanker, four Aframax tankers were in production at the heavy outfitting berth, and metal cutting was carried out for the fifth one in February 2020. The vessels are being built for Rosnefteflot. Aframax tankers will be the first of this class built in Russia. The tankers are equipped with the most advanced class A automation system. High sustainability of the tankers is especially important for the work in the Arctic region.
