Expro awarded subsea

Mauritania
International oil eld services company Expro has been awarded a contract by Paci c Drilling llC’s subsidiary, Paci c Santa Ana for the provision of an Intervention Riser System (IRS) for PETRoNAS’s Chinguetti Field Phase II plug and abandonment (P&A) contract, o shore Mauritania.
e contract, valued at $20mn, will see Expro provide its IRS system with associated surface support equipment, to be deployed from Paci c Drilling’s drillship, Paci c Santa Ana. e contracted work will take place for an estimated 360 days. Worldwide oil eld Machine (WoM) will support Expro with the provision of the subsea well access system and technical support team.
e IRS safely establishes and maintains well access throughout riser to surface operations, replicating the functionality
of the blow-out preventer and providing
a safe and reliable means of well control, connected directly to the production tree. With increased coiled tubing cutting and disconnect capability, the IRS system provides an alternative dual barrier, through-tubing system.
e award includes supplying a range of services, including the subsea well access system, lubricator valve, surface owhead, umbilicals, topsides control equipment and IWoCS (installation and workover control system) package. Expro will also provide
an onshore project management team to support Paci c Drilling throughout the project planning and execution phases, based in Expro’s o ce in Kuala lumpur and then
locally onshore in Mauritania.

NNPC Calls for Adequate Funding of Petroleum Sector
e Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has urged the Senate to ensure adequate funding of the oil and gas sector
to guarantee sustainable revenue ow from the sector. Group Managing Director of the NNPC Mallam Mele Kyari made the appeal today at a meeting of Nigeria’s revenue generating and monitoring agencies with
the leadership of the Senate at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja.
Mallam Kyari stated that NNPC has introduced various projects aimed at integrating the oil and gas industry with the economy and called for more funding to achieve a sustainable growth in the industry.
He also solicited the support of the Senate to curb cross-border smuggling of petroleum products, especially petrol, which he said was posing a challenge to the e orts of the corporation to ensure seamless supply and distribution of products in the country.
He commended the Senate for its support which he said, enabled the corporation to o set its cash-call arrears. In his remarks,
the Senate President, Ahmed lawan, said
the generation and collection of revenue was critical to the success of the government hence the need for inter-agency collaboration and cooperation.
He said the meeting was convened to
enable the Senate to understand the challenges of the agencies in their various operations with a view to nding solutions to them.
He expressed the determination of the Senate to revert to the January – December budget circle, while assuring that the 2020 budget would be passed before the end of 2019 if the executive sent it on time.
Senator lawan noted that there was need to ensure an e cient and reliable revenue collection strategy for the government to grow the economy, adding that there would be regular interface between the Senate and the agencies to address their challenges.

Eland wins approval for Gbetiokun plan
Eland oil & Gas is pleased to announce that regulatory approval has been obtained for the Gbetiokun Field Development Plan (“FDP”) from the Department of Petroleum Resources.
e FDP caters for the drilling of an additional ve oil production wells during phase 1 of the development, followed by the drilling of a further six oil production wells and a single workover well (the conversion Gbetiokun-2 to a water disposal well) during phase 2.
Furthermore, following the successful completion of remedial and upgrade works on the swamp drilling unit “oES Teamwork”, we are pleased to announce the spudding of the Gbetiokun-4 well on 12 July 2019. It is intended that this well will be completed as a
