NEWS IN BRIEF
LatAmOil
Recovery is expected to be significantly stepped up over the coming days in close dialogue with local authorities.
It is still Equinor’s assessment that no oil is leaking from the terminal. An area with sus- pected oil spill in open water has now been con- firmed to be a patch of seaweed.
Another area with potential product 70-80 km north east of the terminal on the other side of the island has been observed from air and results are being processed. Currently, there are no indi- cations that the terminal is the source for this.
Equinor continues to deliver relief to its employees at Grand Bahama Island. This includes arranging for lodging for employees and their families whose homes were made untenable by the storm.

Buckeye Bahamas Hub partially restarts operations
Buckeye Partners today reported that it had par- tially resumed operations at its Buckeye Baha- mas Hub (BBH) facility following Hurricane Dorian. BBH is now able to accommodate cus- tomer vessels at its inland berths for both load- ing and unloading of petroleum products. Work continues on completing final assessments and restoring full operations in the near future.
“I would like to commend our Buckeye emer- gency response teams for their tireless efforts to support our employees and their families dur- ing the recovery, as well as staying focused on safely resuming full operations at our Buckeye Bahamas Hub,” said Khalid A. Muslih, executive vice president and president of Buckeye’s global marine terminals.
As Buckeye previously reported, preliminary assessments of the facility found only minor damage from wind and rain, with no indications
of any product release or environmental threats. All BBH employees have been accounted for, and an initial delivery of supplies and resources for employees and their families has arrived.
Relief efforts will be on going as Buckeye seeks to assist our employees and the commu- nity, as their safety, health and well-being are our top priority. Buckeye will continue to pro- vide updates as additional information becomes available.

Sembcorp Marine’s
Brazilian shipyard finishes
Petrobras P-68 FPSO
Sembcorp Marine’s wholly-owned and operated subsidiary Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz (EJA) has crossed a significant operational milestone with the completion of its first floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) project. P-68, a newbuild FPSO vessel, left the shipyard today and will be deployed to the ultra-deepwater Ber- bigão and Sururu fields in Brazil’s Santos Basin.
The vessel was constructed for Tupi, a con- sortium comprising Petrobras Netherlands, Total Brazil Services, BG Gas Netherlands Hold- ings (Shell) and Galp Sinopec Brazil Services (Petrogal). Measuring 316m in length and 54m in width, P-68 will produce up to 150,000 barrels per day of oil (bpd). It has a 1.6mn-barrel storage capacity and can accommodate 154 persons.
EJA’s P-68 work scope includes fabricating six modules, pipe racks and a flare, as well as inte- grating them on the vessel along with other free issue items. It also executed carry-over works on the FPSO’s hull, which was built by another
shipyard.
In completing the project, EJA cements its
status as a premier facility in Brazil capable of taking on full engineering, procurement, con- struction and commissioning work for large- scale offshore projects. It also offers vessel repair and upgrade solutions.

Shearwater GeoServices awarded first Latin American Isometrix survey by Ecopetrol
Shearwater GeoServices Holding is pleased to announce the award of a 3D Isometrix seismic survey by Colombia’s Ecopetrol. It will be the first Isometrix survey in Latin America with marine acquisition starting in Q4-2019.
The survey covers 2 000 square km of 3D seismic offshore Colombia on Ecopetrol’s Block COL-5 and will acquired by the SW Amundsen equipped with Isometrix multi-sensor streamer technology. Isometrix streamer technology is a true 3D multi-sensor system that can record the full seismic wavefield enabling better receiver de-ghosting and improved seismic images. The survey is expected to take one and a half months to complete.
“We continue to deliver on our strategy to expand our presence in Latin America. A cornerstone of that strategy is to leverage Shearwater’s unique technology such as our market-leading multi-sensor streamer solution,” said Irene Waage Basili, the CEO of Shearwater GeoServices. “We are very pleased with the award by Ecopetrol which will be our first sur- vey in Colombia, the first project for a new lead- ing regional customer, and the first-ever Latin American Isometrix project.”
Shearwater is experiencing increased activ- ity in Latin America and has established a new Colombian branch to support this coming oper- ation. This follows the recent opening of a branch office in Brazil to support Shearwater’s growth in the region.
