Belarusian Architecture and Construction Minister Anatoly Cherny and Eurocement Group President Mikhail Skorokhod discussed results of joint work in the first half of 2018 and future tasks. Cooperation between Belarusian and Russian cement industry companies was invigorated when a bilateral document was signed in 2014 to allowing selling Belarusian cement in Russia via Eurocement Group. The measure allowed the demand for Belarusian cement to be satisfied on the Russian market. As much as $400mn worth of cement was exported in 2014-2018 as a result. Eurocement Group President Mikhail Skorokhod said: “A lot has been done to create and advance strategic partnerships between the cement companies of Russia and Belarus over the last four years. Working groups have been set up to promptly address emerging issues relating to cement deliveries. The quality of merchandise has been stabilized. Cement producers have been audited. Technical regulation and standardization at the level of the Eurasian Economic Union are being taken care of thanks to support of the cement manufacturers union Soyuzcement, which includes Russian and Belarusian cement mills.” Belarusian Architecture and Construction Minister Anatoly Cherny added: “We are happy to continue tight cooperation in cement deliveries and in sharing the best practices. In other words, we are happy to practice a sophisticated approach to our cooperation. The Russian market, in particular, Eurocement Group, has been and will remain our strategic partner.”
Belarus increased meat exports by almost 15% year-on-year in January-May, according to the nation's Deputy Agriculture and Food Minister Igor Brylo. "In January-May, Belarus exported meat and dairy products worth about $1.2bn, of, which approximately $800mn came from dairy exports, about $400mn from meat shipments. This is roughly the level of the previous year," BelTA news agency quoted the official as saying. "With regard to meat products, the export rose by almost 15% in January-May." According to Brylo, Belarus exported meat and dairy products worth of $3.1bn ($2.2bn came from dairy exports and $0.9bn from the export of meat products) in 2017. "We seek to beat these figures this year," the deputy minister said. "We are gradually reducing the share of the Russian market in total exports of livestock products. In 2017, Russia accounted for 90.3% of the total export of Belarusian dairy products. In January-May, its share dropped to 82.7% as the Belarusian producers have advanced to new countries."
