Foreign tourist arrivals in Turkey increased 94% y/y in 2021 to 24.7mn people. In 2019, the country welcomed over 45mn international holidaymakers.
In 2021, 4.7mn Russians vacationed in Turkey, accounting for 19% of all tourist arrivals. Germans ranked second at 3.1mn people, followed by Ukrainians at 2.01mn.
Turkey also attracted 1.4mn Bulgarian and 1.2mn Iranian travellers in 2021.
