EU to invest €200mn to improve rural internet in Slovenia
Some €200mn will be invested in the development of the broadband optical network in rural parts of Slovenia as part of a project co-funded by the EU and the European Investment Bank (EIB), media reported.
The project will be implemented by Slovenian company RUNE Enia.
The Rural Network Project will be launched this year and will bring internet speeds of up to 10Gb/s to rural households, Slovenia Times reported on July 15, citing sources from RUNE Enia.
A similar project has also been launched in neighboring Croatia.
