Russia's Mail.ru expands food delivery assets
Russia's internet major Mail.ru acquired 4% in ready meal delivery service Performance Food, Kommersant daily reported. Mail.ru has already consolidated food delivery assets under its Delivery Club, currently the market leader.
Operating under Performance Food and Level Kitchen brands, the service offers meal plans for various health goals with a fixed daily cost in Moscow, St Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and Krasnodar.
Performance Food has a 25% share in ready meal delivery segment (second after Grow Food – 42%)
Internet major Yandex accused of abusing search engine market share
Russian internet major and most valuable digital company Yandex has been accused by five various online services Avito, Cian, Profi.ru, 2gis, and ivi of breaching anti-trust law by limiting access to the services in Yandex search engine, Vedomosti daily reported on July 1 citing the complaint by the companies.
Reportedly, the companies demand that Yandex provides third parties with all forms of search results on "commercial conditions equal for all market participants."

"Although this segment complements Delivery Club, it is rather niche," BCS Global Markets commented on July 4, noting that "Mail.ru appears to be only testing the water, as the investment is small (4%)."
As reported by bne IntelliNews, another internet major Yandex is actively developing its own food delivery portfolio under Yandex.Eda (Yandex.Food) umbrella, and intends to enter corporate food deliveries previously abandoned by Delivery.Club.

Last year Yandex had to back down and change the workings of its search engine, by removing links with pirated content from its search results upon signing an anti-piracy memorandum with Russian TV holdings, online streaming services, and largest content producers.
