5.1.2 Current account dynamics
Ukraine's current account (C/A) deficit widened to $399mn in February
from $142mn in the prior month, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) reported on March 30. The C/A deficit was still lower than the $502mn deficit a year ago.
Both exports and imports significantly slowed down from January;
however, export growth still exceeded imports. In particular, exports increased 16.8% year-on-year (from 41.2% y/y in January) while imports grew 13.5% y/y (27.1% y/y in January).
