Turkey has cut the range and levels of fees and commissions banks are entitled to charge clients. The regulations, introduced by the BDDK watchdog and published in the Official Gazette, scrap fees charged to commercial customers for opening and operating accounts.
The Turkish Central Bank, meanwhile, announced that the number of fees that banks can charge commercial clients for products and services had been reduced to 51 items from 2,400 under a regulation to make fees more transparent.
