 Turkey is Europe’s 5th largest automotive producer. Large local carmakers are usually joint ventures with global brands. Tofas is a JV between Turkey’s largest industrial group Koc Holding and Fiat and Ford Otosan is a partnership between Koc and Ford. Other large local carmakers include Honda Turkey, Hyundai Assan, Oyak Renault and Toyota Turkey.

   Turkey’s 56 airports served a total of 209mn passengers in 2019, down 0.8% y/y, according to data from airports authority DHMI.
The number of domestic passengers plunged 11.3% on an annual basis to 100mn whereas the international traveller tally jumped 11.4% to stand at 209mn.
