Marine Design and Research Institute of China (MARIC), Shanghai Ship and Shipping Research Institute (SSSRI) and China Classi cation Society (CCS) to design and develop the rst 220k LNG carrier with a GTT Mark III membrane containment system.
e seven parties will use their expertise, experience and research capabilities to de ne the ship’s technical speci cations and general arrangement of the main systems, to factor in route and capacity requirements. LR and CCS will provide technical support and consultancy services to ensure that the design meets all international regulations, industry- wide conventions and standards, and that it complies with each society’s classi cation rules. LR and CCS will also o er technical support for ship-shore matching, focusing particularly at upstream and downstream loading and unloading terminals.
Once the LNG carrier has been designed, LR and CCS will look to grant the design approval in principle, which will further enhance the project partners’ competitiveness in the large LNG carrier market. e parties will conduct hydrodynamic assessments on the design
to optimise its performance and plan to continually improve the design.

Scarborough offshore
project proposal public
comment now open
Woodside has submitted an O shore Project Proposal (OPP) to the National O shore Petroleum Safety and Environment Management Authority (NOPSEMA) in accordance with the O shore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage (Environment) Regulations 2009 (Environment Regulations), for activities related to our proposal to develop the Scarborough gas resource.
e Scarborough gas resource is located approximately 375 km west-north-west o the Burrup Peninsula and is part of the Greater Scarborough gas elds.
Woodside is proposing to develop the Scarborough gas eld through new o shore facilities connected by an approximately 430 km export pipeline to onshore processing facilities. Our preferred concept is to expand the Pluto LNG onshore facility with a second LNG train.
 e public comment period provides
an opportunity for the public to review and comment on the OPP, which evaluates the potential environmental impacts and risks associated with activities to be conducted over the life of the proposed o shore Scarborough development.
e Scarborough OPP will be available
for public comment from 5 July to 30 August 2019. Woodside invites parties interested in the Scarborough OPP to comment during the eight- week period. A copy of the comments received will be provided to Woodside for consideration. WOODSIDE PETROLEUM, July 5, 2019
