Heidrun B and the gas will be sent via the Polarled pipeline to Nyhamna.
Dvalin is being developed as a subsea field tied back to Heidrun, which lies
some 15 km to the northwest. Wintershall Dea is the operator of the field with a 55 percent interest, and its partners are Petoro and Edison with a 35% and 10% interest respectively.
It is located in the central part of
the Norwegian Sea and consists of two separate structures, Dvalin East and Dvalin West.
Dvalin East was proven in 2010 in a water depth of 344 metres. Dvalin West was proven in 2012 and is located 3.5 km west of Dvalin East. The water depth is 400 metres.
The plan for development and production (PDO) was approved in March 2017. The development concept is a subsea template with four gas producers tied-back to the Heidrun platform. Production is planned to start in late 2020.
The Heidrun oil and gas field is located 190 km offshore in the Haltenbanken region of the Norwegian Sea in water depths of around 350 metres
The field was discovered in 1985 and was brought on stream in October 1995. The recoverable reserves at the field were originally estimated at 182.1mn cubic meters of oil, 46.5bn cubic meters of gas, and 2.2mn tonnes of natural gas liquids (NGL).
The remaining recoverable reserves from the field by the end of 2012 were estimated at 40.1mn cubic meters of oil, 31.3bn cubic meters of gas and 1.7mn tonnes of NGL.
Wintershall Dea started drilling four production wells on the Dvalin gas field back in August 2019. Drilling of the wells from the Transocean Arctic rig is expected to last approximately one year.
In the same month, a 3,500-tonne processing module was completed
and lifted on the Heidrun platform in preparation for receiving gas from the Dvalin field. The first Dvalin module for the Heidrun platform was delivered in the spring of 2018.

Ukraine makes its first gas
transit between two EU
countries
Ukraine has acted as a transit country for an shipment of gas travelling between two EU countries for the first time, the country’s Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine (GTSOU) said on March 16.
NEWS IN BRIEF
The gas was shipped via Ukraine from Hungary to Slovakia, making it the first time that Ukraine has serviced gas transit between countries of the European Union, head of GTSOU Serhiy Makogon said as cited by Interfax Ukraine.
“The spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) will not stop the further development of the gas market. We continue introducing new services and look for new opportunities
of using the powerful Ukrainian gas transmission system. For the first time,
we serviced gas transit from Hungary to Slovakia,” he wrote on his Facebook page on Monday.
A German energy trader ordered the gas transportation.
“The volumes are still not very large, but we are confidently developing the East European gas hub,” Makogon said.

Equinor announces temporary
corporate changes in
COVID-19 response
The coronavirus, measures to limit the spread and the significant fall in oil prices have huge impact on the global economy, and on individuals and companies across the world. As a response to the current situation, Equinor is now making temporary changes to ensure an effective response and coordinated efforts across all business areas to manage the situation both short and long term.
“These are challenging times for us all, as individuals, families, societies and companies. We are facing uncertainty, many are afraid for their and their loved one’s health, others of losing their jobs and concerned for their future. Our response must be to do our utmost to limit the spread of the virus and to take care of safety and health. At the same time, we must make every effort to keep operations and business going and to produce and deliver the energy the world needs,” says Eldar Saetre, CEO of Equinor.
Equinor is establishing a temporary corporate project to handle both short- term immediate response and long-term implications. The project will be established and structured over the coming days
and will be headed by EVP Pal Eitrheim reporting directly to CEO Eldar Saetre. An already working internal project focusing on immediate response and short-term business continuity issues will be incorporated into the new corporate project. Eitrheim will in this role still be part of the CEC. SVP Jens Okland will be acting head of NES while Eitrheim is heading this project.
“The outbreak of the Corona virus and the
EurOil
fall in commodity prices will impact Equinor for a long time. We are a robust company with a strong balance sheet, and we are now really benefitting from the strong improvements in recent years. But it will be necessary to take forceful action to reduce risk, protect our business and operations and to ensure the long-term robustness of our company. I have therefore asked Pal Eitrheim to lead our work on this and it will be on top of the agenda
for our Corporate Executive Committee and Board of Directors,” says Saetre.
Equinor has already implemented significant measures to limit the spread of the Corona virus and to ensure business continuity during these challenging times, including reducing and delaying non-critical tasks at fields and plants, implemented procedures for working from home and taken strict travel restrictions and quarantine measures.
There will be uncertainty and volatility going forward, and Equinor will continuously evaluate measures to respond. Keeping production going and ensuring that we can deliver oil and gas to our customers have high priority.

EnQuest to keeps fields shut amid market turmoil
In light of recent developments in the oil market, oil and gas company EnQuest has decided not to re-start production at the Heather and Thistle/Deveron fields located offshore the UK.
EnQuest was in October 2019 forced to evacuate workers from its Thistle platform following an inspection relating to a support element on a redundant subsea storage tank. During the same month, a small fire broke out on the Heather platform and two workers were injured. Production at Heather had been shut down for maintenance prior to the incident.
EnQuest said in November 2019 that single compressor operations had impacted production at Heather.
Production has been shut down at both platforms ever since. EnQuest previously planned to restore production at both platforms in the first half of 2020.
In an update on March 19 EnQuest said
it had reviewed each of its assets and related spending plans in light of the current lower oil price environment.
EnQuest’s updated working assumption is not to re-start production at the Heather and Thistle/Deveron fields. Total combined production from these fields in 2019 was around 6,000 boe per day.
