H2O Midstream announces acquisition of Sabalo Energy produced water assets and close of 15-year agreement
H2O Midstream announced today the acquisition of produced water infrastructure from Sabalo Energy concurrent with the execution of a 15-year acreage dedication
to provide produced water gathering,
disposal and recycling services to Sabalo.
e acquired assets are adjacent to H2O Midstream’s existing operations in Howard County, Texas and consist of over 37 miles of pipeline, nine salt water disposal wells, four Ellenburger salt water disposal well permits, and several third-party interconnects. e Sabalo system is already pipeline-connected to H2O Midstream’s expansive produced water gathering network, bringing the combined system to 435,000 bpd of disposal capacity, 240,000 bpd of deep disposal permits, and
190 total miles of pipeline. In addition to ongoing buildout to accommodate Sabalo’s development programme, H2O Midstream is adding 40,000 bpd of recycling capacity with the option to expand to 80,000 bpd over time.
“ e acquisition of Sabalo’s water infrastructure is an important step in realising our vision of being the premier integrated water midstream provider in the Permian Basin,” said Jim Summers, chief executive o cer of H2O Midstream. “ e scale of our produced water ‘supersystem’ in the Midland Basin, coupled with our University Lands
partnership in the Delaware Basin, allows us to provide our customers with an unmatched level of service, exibility, and reliability as they have put their trust in our hands. We are excited to partner with Sabalo in meeting their produced water disposal and recycling needs for years to come.”
Barry Clark, the Chief Executive O cer of Sabalo, stated, “Due to the strong working relationship, location of complementary gathering infrastructure, and proven reliability demonstrated by H2O Midstream, we determined they were the best team to purchase, operate, and continue the buildout of our integrated water gathering and recycling infrastructure. As a result of this transaction, Sabalo has secured a long-term partnership to gather all of its produced water via pipe and the optionality to scale
up produced water recycling operations to meet the needs of an aggressive completion schedule in the future.”

ExxonMobil and Mosaic
Materials to explore new
carbon capture technology
ExxonMobil and Mosaic Materials said today that they have entered into an agreement to explore the advancement of breakthrough technology that can remove carbon dioxide from emissions sources.
Mosaic Materials has progressed research on a unique process that uses porous solids, known as metal-organic frameworks, to separate carbon dioxide from air or ue gas. e agreement with ExxonMobil will enable
further discussion between the two companies to evaluate opportunities for industrial uses of the technology at scale.
“New technologies in carbon capture will be critical enablers for us to meet growing energy demands, while reducing emissions,” said Vijay Swarup, vice president of research and development for ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Company.
“Our agreement with Mosaic expands our carbon capture technology research portfolio, which is evaluating multiple pathways
-- including evaluation of carbonate fuel
cells and direct air capture – to reduce costs and enable large-scale deployment. Adding Mosaic’s approach will allow us to build on their work to evaluate the potential for this technology to have a meaningful impact in reducing carbon dioxide emissions.”
“ rough this agreement with ExxonMobil, we look to accelerate the pace
of our development and demonstrate the business and environmental bene ts that
our technology can o er,” said omas McDonald, chief executive o cer of Mosaic Materials. “Our proprietary technology allows us to separate carbon dioxide from nearly
any gas mixture using moderate temperature and pressure changes, substantially increasing energy e ciency and decreasing costs.”
Mosaic Materials’ agreement with ExxonMobil is part of Mosaic’s commitment to accelerate the impact of its innovative, low- cost technology, and is Mosaic’s latest direct engagement with companies across a range
of industries to demonstrate both the cost reductions and the environmental bene ts of employing Mosaic’s solutions.
